Reconciling calls

When running through the process of uploading calls to Billingbooth, the analysis step will no doubt throw out indicators that perhaps your customer or call rate set up is not quite correct. This will typically show itself in the form of calls without rates, or calls without customers within the analysis page in Billingbooth.

Solving calls without rates

In the case of calls that have not been matched to any rates, you will want to ensure that the rate sheet you've uploaded is in the correct format, and that all possible destinations are included.

To view the calls that have not been matched against a rate, download the appropriate report underneath "Calls without rates". In the CSV file downloaded, you will see a column titled "Charge Code", this is the field used for matching rates in your rate sheet's "Destination" field. Make sure that your rate sheet contains destinations for all the outstanding charge codes in the report.

Once you've modified your rate sheet, re-uploaded it, you can go back to your call analysis page, and click on "Analyse". This will get Billingbooth to re-analyse the file, and resolve outstanding calls without rates.

Solving calls without customers

As described in our getting started with telecoms billing tutorial, Billingbooth uses Caller Line Identification to match the calls in the CDRs with your customers.

To view the calls that have not been matched against a customer, download the appropriate report underneath "Calls without customers". In the CSV file downloaded, you will see a column titled "CLI", this is the field used for matching calls against your customer's CLI entries. Go back to your customers and ensure that they have the correct CLIs entered within Billingbooth.

Once you've made the necessary adjustments to your customers, you can go back to your call analysis page, and click on "Analyse".This will get Billingbooth to re-analyse the file, and resolve outstanding calls without customers.

Ready to go

When Calls without rates and Calls without customers has reached a satisfactory count (typically zero), you are now ready to process the file fully. Clicking on "Process" will apply the necessary charges against all your customers.
