Generating a customer service file (SDR)

Note

Generating SDR files is only possible on Enterprise level accounts.

As well as generating an invoice, you're also able to generate a SDR file which your customer can then upload to their billing platform of choice.

To do so, first, head to the Customers screen and select the customer that requires SDRs to be generated. Next, select Edit Details and scroll down the options until you get to the Issue Service File field and select Yes from the available options.

Once this has been done, whenever you create a new manual charge against this customer (Customers > {Customer} > Charges > New Charge (top-right)), you will see a new field called Associate to CLI. You MUST associate a charge to a CLI if you want the charge to appear in the generated service file.

The CLI will appear in the generated service file under the Customer Identifier column (see a sample SDR file below).

Note

The Associate to CLI field will also not appear if the applicable customer doesn't have any CLIs currently associated to them, in this instance you can simply make a CLI up by using the customer's reference code/number for example.

With Issue Service File set to Yes and any applicable customers have charges that are associated to CLIs, the next time you generate invoices it will also generate an SDR file along with it. If you would also like to set up generating CDR files, please see our Generating a customer CDR article.
